This poster is part of a set designed for the Swedish National Opera. Inspired by the design of Jospeh Muller-Brockmann I sought a creative but simple solution to each Opera. With Otello the colours are meant to reflect the themes of jealousy and racism. The white bars get smaller as if dripping to represent the blood shed in a dramatic geometric fashion and relate also to the part played by that damn white hanky!
Oh and for those of you who are grumbling about the spelling, Otello is the correct spelling of the Opera by Guiseppe Verdi.
